First of all, thank you so much for taking time to check out my blog. I feel still very new to the world of blogging/web design/etc – as its changing so quickly and I feel like I never have enough time to solely dedicate to keeping it up to trend. But I love challenges and learning experiences so I guess this just is right up my alley.
My name is Kristin, and I currently live in the Greater Montreal Area of Quebec, in Canada. I love my country, in the best and worst of times (worst is ALWAYS the dead of winter). I grew up in Selkirk, Manitoba, in a home that my father built, and they still live in today (but I’m sad to say perhaps not for much longer). I studied at the University of Manitoba and received my Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree in 2005, and almost immediately landed a job that transferred me to Edmonton, Alberta. For those of you who know Canadian geography, your probably thinking that I hadn’t had the best of luck in terms of places to live. But I assure you, each of the locations have their own charm and I strongly urge you to visit at least once.
I was promoted with my company (a leading FMCG company) and transferred to Montreal in 2006, where I still am today. I love my career, and while its challenging (and political sometimes), the people are amazing and that makes me enjoy each day there. I’ve been lucky enough to work on amazing and impactful projects during my time there that have given me a wealth of business experience and drive to continue my career.
I am married to a wonderful man, and we have an amazing blended family of our two girls and my step-daughter. I have learned so much from my husband, my kids, and believe or not, the experience of a blended family. We also have challenges – with my step-daughter suffering from Juvenile Arthritis and our middle daughter being recently diagnosed with a mild sensory processing disorder. We definitely have our hands full but every day is exciting to say the least.
We also have an amazing group of friends, all over Canada. And those that are here, in Montreal, have become family to us. We are truly grateful for the times we share with all of our friends, near and far.
In addition to my full time career, I am also an Interior Designer. While definitely is not my full time job, it is one of my passions, which is why I decided to go back to school and get my diploma in the field. I’ve done a few projects already, as you can see in my portfolio. But keep in mind – it is limited because it is just more of a “paying hobby” (and sometimes not-paying) rather than a career.
I am passionate, hard working, a tiny bit of a control-freak, and I love Interior Design, Marketing, Food, Travel, and Fashion. I feel that all of this comes together and my ideas and creativity for what I am about to embark on and look forward to taking it all on.
I hope you have enjoyed reading some of this blog so far and hope you come back soon to check out posts on interior design and life in general.
